Information you choose to share
When you request help, we collect your name, phone number, pickup location, vehicle year, make, model, drivetrain, service choice, and any destination or notes you provide. If you choose to share your device’s location, we also collect latitude, longitude, estimated accuracy, and the time of that one-time location ping. We do not continuously track your location.
Optional customer accounts
If you register, we save your name, email, phone number, and a protected password hash. Your saved name and phone can prefill new tow requests. Accounts are optional and do not grant staff access. Requests submitted while signed in are linked to your account so you can view their details and status history. Account links are set automatically from the signed-in account at submission and cannot be reassigned through the staff request form. Account email changes and password changes require your current password. Welcome messages and status updates go to your account email (or the email you supply with a guest request). Password reset emails go to your account email, and reset links expire after 30 minutes. Account details remain until you ask us to delete them; the request cleanup schedule does not delete customer accounts.
Why we use it
We use this information to review your request, contact you, confirm the service and price, and arrange assistance. Sending a request does not confirm a booking or dispatch a driver. Please avoid including payment information or unrelated sensitive details in the notes.
Who receives it
Authorized S.G Towing staff can view requests in a protected admin area. Request details are also sent by email to our business inbox. Our hosting and email providers process this information to operate the website and deliver those messages. We do not sell your request information.
Location and map links
Your browser asks for permission before sharing GPS. You can decline and type a location instead. If a map link is opened by dispatch staff, the location is provided to Google Maps to help find the pickup. The site does not load a third-party map or request GPS until you choose to share your location.
Staff route planning
Pickup and destination street addresses may be sent to the free U.S. Census Geocoder to find a matched road location. Route coordinates may then be sent to FreeRoute to estimate driving time and distance. Customer names, phone numbers, passwords, and notes are not sent for routing. Staff-only routing results are not displayed in customer accounts.
Cookies and security logs
We use an essential session cookie for form security, customer accounts, and staff sign-in. We do not include advertising or third-party analytics trackers. We use a first-party visitor cookie, lasting up to one year, to estimate unique browsers and visits to public pages and sections. Visitor records contain a keyed hash of a random browser identifier, the public page or section, an hourly time bucket, and view counts; they do not include your name, email, phone, GPS location, raw IP address, or full URL. We exclude known bots and staff browsing, and respect Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control. Visitor activity is kept for up to 400 days when the scheduled cleanup is enabled. Hashed connection identifiers are used to limit abusive submissions and login attempts. Your hosting provider may keep its own access logs.
Retention and your choices
The website is configured to remove requests after 180 days when the scheduled cleanup task is enabled. Email copies and backups follow the business and providers’ retention practices. Contact us to ask about access, corrections, or deletion of your information, subject to any records we need to keep.
